Empowering people to lead happier, healthier lives through participating in music.

Welcome to Musical Connections

We run participatory music sessions and projects for older, isolated and vulnerable people in care and community settings across York. We also run a large programme of intergenerational events and activities, which bring together our beneficiaries with local schoolchildren and students. We provide free transport for anyone who needs it, and are supported by a team of dedicated volunteers.

Summer Schedule Update

We're currently running a skeleton schedule over the summer, which means a reduced timetable of sessions.

But don’t worry - we’d still love to see you!
Join us every Tuesday in August at St Aelred’s Primary School from 10:15am. This session is open to everyone, and we'd love to have you along.

? Trustee on Tour - Chris’s Epic Ride for Music

Our trustee Chris Bartram is taking on an epic 2,800 km challenge - Up the Loire, Down the Rhine - to raise funds for Musical Connections.

Over several weeks, Chris will cycle through France, Switzerland, Germany, and the Netherlands, following two of Europe’s great rivers. His goal? To raise as much money for Musical Connections as possible!

Follow his journey live and support him on GoodHub. Every mile brings more music, joy, and connection to those who need it most.

BETTER WHEN I'M SINGING!

We’re so excited to share Better When I’m Singing – our latest video celebrating the energy, joy and creativity of our Musical Connections community. Featuring participants from across all our groups, plus schools, charities and other intergenerational partners, this video is a vibrant snapshot of the many people we make music with every week. We hope it makes you smile as much as it made us!
